Empowerment

This is a sort of make shift park area under a billboard near I-75 in Mexicantown

This is the now abandoned 3th Precinct.

[dfunk reader Mac adds: "Hey DF, the old 13th precinct was up on Woodward & Hancock wasn’t it? The one in your picture looks like the old 3rd (?) down on vernor?" - correction made. ]

Here’s a great architectural style – the Geodesic Dome !

This property is on the market right now I believe.

Right on Mac – Im making the correction now. Too sleepy this morning. I was wondering where the hell an aerial view of the 3rd would be from !!!

Any idea what the domes were used for?

  4. dfunk Says:

Oh yeah – that is a house, dude ! You can buy it and move right in. Has a garage too.

  5. Angela Says:

I love that house. The original builder/resident was Jack White’s brother Leo. Good news about the old 3rd precinct building is that there are plans to renovate it for 555 Gallery’s new space this summer. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it will happen.

  6. dfunk Says:

Thats cool – 555 is moving yet again. Amazing they can keep it up ! That is a good location, right near the restaurants.

The domes were taken off the market without a sale. Leo Gillis was trying to do a short sale, and couldn’t even find a taker at 70k, and the last recorded mortgage on public record for the place was for 170k back in 2006
