These are obviously from warmer months – this is the large brownfield area along Livernois near McGraw.
[Nailhed adds: actually this is mostly the old Kelsey-Hayes Wheel Plant property…all the blgs that face McGraw (including the large hollow one on the south side of the street), belonged to that complex, and it looks like there was even a skybridge that connected the two over McGraw at one point. i dont know much about the place other than it supplied wheels to Olds and Ford, and also was the site of the first-ever automotive plant strike, leading to the eventual unionization of the auto industry.]
It has various structures from several businesses strewn about. This one has the iconic logo ‘TIT’
Have to watch out for big deep goop pits filled with industrial tarry – I dunnowhat.

This is one of those large areas of land in Detroit where you can walk around and pretend you are in some omega-man movie wondering what happened to all the people.
And if you act now – you can LEASE this huge field full of crazy garbage and falling down buildings !
That would be sweet.

Ahh yes, the ubiquitous accoutrements of a typical Detroit ruinscape – a 1968 Magnavox console TV, Beautyrest mattress and a powerful Chris-Craft at the dock.

if you look close along te roofline of the more easterly Kahn-style blg on the north side of McGraw, you will find a very faint “ghost-sign” bearing the name “Kelsey-Hayes.”

Kelsey-Hayes! I have a set of those wheels on my 1990
“conversion van”, now stored in friends barn! Made the greatest stuff on earth, forged AL. Now, here is my question- Where do you park your car in a place like this??? TIA.

Marty – I was parked in a parking lot of a auto salvage place nearby. I usually put my car one place and then hike for a few miles in that area.
