Buena Vista’s Finest

Yet another of the endless rotten wet left over stuffed animal memorials that appear all over town in places where people met their death at the hands of gun violence.

Not hard to understand when the guns themselves seem to be worshipped, even after such an untimely death.

“Buena Vista’s Finest”

“i got more money than y’all hoes and niggas”
Well, too bad ya cant take it with you, dude…

These things look strange to outsiders, but I bum out hard whenever I see one (sometimes they are everywhere you look). They are certainly no less important to the people who made them than the actual gravesites in a cemetery, except these are somehow more heartbreaking.

That last memorial looks like it was for a woman. I wonder how many of these are innocent bystandards? Yikes.

Just a thought for the next “Buena Vista’s Finest.”

Very sad.
It always shakes me up a bit when I unexpectedly come across one of these. Makes me wonder who they were and what their story is.
Creepy recollection: I was involved in a weather-related rollover several winters ago, and had to climb up out of the driver’s seat door. When they helped me jump down from the wreckage, I landed face-to-cross with a roadside memorial of another, more lethal accident involving a young girl.
Still gives me shivers when I think about it.
