Well folks, here is the new camera (as well as my probably broken right wrist). This is officially reader sponsored equipment: Mrs.dfunk kindly financed the purchase of a new camera and lens kit (we normally never do revolving credit), and with the unprecedented help of so many generous readers, I have managed to pay off most of the camera already.

The Nikon D5000 is nothing too special, not high end or a professional level SLR, but this camera means more to me than any other I’ve had because it was largely purchased by the readers of this site. It has been an unexpectedly brutal few weeks over here for some reason, just a lot of heavy stuff going down all at once everywhere around me. Thank you for the ray of light.
