As Mac stated in a comment on the earlier post, 2003 was also the last time I stayed at Hotel Pontchartrain. And just like Macs observations, I found the hotel to be – meh – but the views were great. Heres some pics from that visit in 2003, including some good views from the building.

Ah – the former Hotel Pontchartrain, now the infamous Detroit Riverside Hotel. We stayed at this horrible excuse for a hotel BEFORE it was recently remodeled. Now it is so bad that it has become fodder for the local evening news. Apparently employees are not being paid, and have walked off the site leaving guests stranded at a non functioning facility.

How it is still allowed to be open for business is beyond me.
